IPCC Special Report on Renewable Energy Sources and Climate Change Mitigation

Project status:
Completed

The working group on climate change mitigation (WG III) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change published a comprehensive Special Report on Renewable Energy Sources and Climate Change Mitigation to address the information needs of policy makers, private sector and civil society. The report provides valuable information for further IPCC publications, including the integration of its findings into the next comprehensive IPCC assessment of mitigation of climate change.

3CSEP director Diana Ürge-Vorsatz contributed to the special report's chapter on mitigation potential and costs of renewable energies as Lead Author. Related research at 3CSEP focuses on cost curves of climate change mitigation through the deployment of renewable energy sources.
